The hotel gives off a real motel vibe with some paint peeling, and it could use some thorough cleaning and updates. On the bright side, the room features two beds and a decent sitting area with a sofa, table, and chairs, making it quite spacious. It's undoubtedly time for some cosmetic upgrades.

I was really impressed by the service, especially Brenda R, who took amazing care of us. The staff went above and beyond by giving us an upper floor room with an ocean/city view, which was incredibly generous. We even received a welcome drink and encountered helpful service throughout our stay. It was top-notch.

The hotel's location is adequate, situated perfectly between the beach and the laguna. You can easily step out onto the beach, which is a major plus. However, the overall area feels a bit outdated.

We indulged in the various appetizers available, including a delicious salad with different dressing options and some mouthwatering shrimp choices. Dining at the Oceana restaurant was a great experience, and the highlight was meeting the chef Marcus. The shabu-shabu was delightful as well.

Our stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were neat and tidy, equipped for comfort, but gave off a cheap motel vibe. The staff's service was a bit inconsistent, ranging from just grunting to being extremely hospitable. The location was ideal for exploring the area, yet with a very youthful atmosphere. While the dining was satisfactory with excellent service and beautiful views, the facilities lacked in some areas.

My stay at the Catamaran Hotel was fantastic! The room had a great view out over Mission Bay and was very comfortable, although it lacked a kitchenette. The service was top-notch, with the staff being extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, allowing for quick walks to the beach and surrounding entertainment spots. The facilities were well-kept and enjoyable.
